I am a clinical psychologist, registered with the HPCSA, working in private practice in Sea Point and Gardens.
My earlier experience was gained working with children grappling with emotional and learning difficulties in a mainstream school environment. More recently my work in public health has focused mainly on adults and older adolescents dealing with a wide range of challenges including: trauma and loss, depression and anxiety, emotion dysregulation, relationship difficulties and life adjustment issues.
I offer short and long-term therapy to adults, adolescents and couples, and aim to provide a confidential, non-judgemental, collaborative and at times gently challenging therapeutic space. I follow an integrative psychodynamic approach to therapy which aims to increase a client’s self-awareness and understanding of themselves and how their past relationships influence their present behaviour. However, I am also open to utilising different techniques to meet the needs and resources of each individual client.
When not at my practice I work at UCT’s Department of Psychiatry in the field of HIV and Mental Health research.
