As a registered Social Worker, I have a passion for helping people through their various struggles. My particular passion lies with helping young people and their families navigate through the joys and challenges of tween, teen and young adult years.
Working in high schools for over 7 years has allowed me to experience the inherent strength, and inherent vulnerability, that young people wrestle with. Finding strength in that vulnerability is the essence of my work towards helping my clients and their families find understanding, peace and growth.
I work primarily using the gently explorative Person Centred Approach, which places my client at the centre of their journey. I also integrate other approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy into my sessions when necessary to meet my clients’ needs.
I hold a holistic and systems based mind-set, acknowledging the important roles that family, friends, educators, and other caregivers play in young people's lives and development. I enjoy working collaboratively with various support structures and personnel and have established good connections with my fellow professionals in private practice, legal systems, NGOs and education institutes.
Paramount, are my strong ethical codes, warm and approachable nature, willingness to learn and grow, and my passion for helping young people along their personal paths. To build trust and transparency with those I work with, I highly value integrity, honesty and humility.
